Dear Jack, I want to thank you for everything you’ve done for me. Before I saw you the first time, I’d learned from a doctor that I had an autoimmune disease for which there is no cure. He described in vivid and grizzly detail what it would be like for me when the disease progressed: nothing to do but a transplant, and the process is extremely risky and I’m too old to qualify anyway.
